The picturesque Lower Austrian village of Lackenhof
lies at the foot of the famous Ötscher, whose name comes from the Slavic language and translates as "father", "source", "ancestral home", "beginning" or "roots". The Ötscher, the highest peak in the region, can be seen for up to 100 kilometres and is easily recognisable thanks to its graceful snowy peak. Lackenhof is a nature reserve far away from noise and air pollution. In this paradise you can discover beautiful mountain lakes, visit numerous healing springs and enjoy phenomenal views from the mountain peaks.

Leisure activities in summer and winter
The most popular leisure activities in summer include picturesque circular hiking trails as well as hiking and mountain bike trails. In winter, Lackenhof offers ski slopes with varying degrees of difficulty - whether you are a beginner or an expert, you are guaranteed to find something to suit your taste here. Ski area
The ski area extends to an altitude of 800 to 1400 metres above sea level and offers 19 kilometres of pistes with 9 lifts. The natural snow cover lasts for more than 60 days with a snow depth of more than 20 cm, and artificial snow can also be produced on 37,000 metres of pistes. There are also 17 kilometres of cross-country ski trails and 17 kilometres of winter hiking trails.
The location of Lackenhof is unique
Vienna International Airport can be reached in around two hours by car. To get to the Hungarian or Slovakian capital or to visit the airports in Salzburg or Munich, you need between 2.5 and 4 hours by car.
